Storyboard for Music Video

Here is a quick storyboard for my idea, when actually creating my music video, i plan that everything which is seemingly apparent in the actual world with have a slight grey/green tint on it, then when subconscious is reached everything will become bright and clear. The images in the actual world will remain still only increase/decrease in size, however the character will move. In the subconscious everything will be mobile and will move and change according the response they evoke in the character.

Series of still images camera located behind the main character.

Character moves away from camera, images move towards
and new ones appear.

Character now located in the middle of the screen MS,
he stops.

He notices something on his left head turns to look at it.

Cuts to POV, camera then zooms on what hes seen,
there is a pause then camera does a 180.

MS of character camera begins to zoom.

Continues to zoom.

Continues to zoom, becomes clear eye is the point of zoom.

Eye is centre of screen zooming continues.

Becomes clear that an image is at the centre of the eye
zooms further.

Image becomes larger and eye is seeming entered.

Within the eye shapes and colours and apparent,
as well as images which the character has seen.

Music Video Final Idea

For my music video i have chosen track 6, i chose this because i didn't want anything to fast paced i like how its quite slow and relaxing and i believe this will make the creation process for the video easier. I've made a music video before for a techno track and the numerous quick cuts for that made it very hard.
For my idea i plan to have a video trying to portray someones subconscious and try to show how their environment around them effects them emotionally. the main concept surrounding my idea is to have my character experience something, then to have the camera to zoom into the pupil of his eye the screen go black and then a series of images and colours to appear. Hopefully these will successfully portray how the character is feeling.
Currently i am still planning my ideas about what the character will experience, i'm thinking about showing possibly nature, society, media however it is still a work in progress,  but i have a good idea of how i shall portray his subconscious. I will use after effects to layer up the images and then premiere pro to link this with the other footage.

DP3 Music Video Cont'd

Another music video which i like the effects on, mainly the psychedelic parts i like how as a viewer it makes you feel engrossed, and the constant changing is always interesting.

DP3 Music Video Cont'd

Here's an effect i would like to try in affects effects and see if it can be done with still images.

DP3 Music Video Cont'd

Remembered this video that i saw online although it kind of has a narrative which matches the song i like the use of imagery and think its a good example which relates to what we have to do. two examples i like are at 2:14 and 1:37.

DP3 Music Video

Today in our seminar we went over the brief with Danny and he told us that we must choose a track from the 14 listed, and create a music video for it. However our video must not be a narrative for the song rather it should be abstract and non derivative. From this we were sent away and told to choose a song and come up with 3 ideas for it by Friday.

At first i thought that i might like to try make my video using stop animation, but after some thought i realized that this would be too much like hard work to do in the allotted time. We were shown an example of a music video like the ones we would create, The Weekend, The Knowing.

from the example i began looking further into YouTube for other examples which show the concept that we are hoping to achieve.

From some of the videos i found i thought that i would like to create something where i would mix shapes images and colour together on the screen and it would change throughout the music video mainly according to the beat of the music, possibly having it fading in and out or having the images form together, as a dissolve.
I also thought that i would like to included instruments in the video and that they would play themselves as the video progress', not necessarily as the main objects in view but more in the back ground as other things are going on.

I know that i dont want the camera position to be stationary rather have it move with the beat and around the objects. One idea i have had is to have the camera zoom into part of the screen which then leads to the next part and sets of objects etc.
