DP3 Music Video

Today in our seminar we went over the brief with Danny and he told us that we must choose a track from the 14 listed, and create a music video for it. However our video must not be a narrative for the song rather it should be abstract and non derivative. From this we were sent away and told to choose a song and come up with 3 ideas for it by Friday.

At first i thought that i might like to try make my video using stop animation, but after some thought i realized that this would be too much like hard work to do in the allotted time. We were shown an example of a music video like the ones we would create, The Weekend, The Knowing.

from the example i began looking further into YouTube for other examples which show the concept that we are hoping to achieve.

From some of the videos i found i thought that i would like to create something where i would mix shapes images and colour together on the screen and it would change throughout the music video mainly according to the beat of the music, possibly having it fading in and out or having the images form together, as a dissolve.
I also thought that i would like to included instruments in the video and that they would play themselves as the video progress', not necessarily as the main objects in view but more in the back ground as other things are going on.

I know that i dont want the camera position to be stationary rather have it move with the beat and around the objects. One idea i have had is to have the camera zoom into part of the screen which then leads to the next part and sets of objects etc.
